A flatbed truck carrying drywall overturned and spilled its load near the intersection of Maluhia Road and Ala Kinoiki in Koloa around 2:45 p.m. yesterday, states a county press release.
No other vehicle was involved in the accident and no one was injured.
According to a preliminary report, the driver, a Kaua‘i Commercial Company employee, was making a left turn onto Ala Kinoiki from Maluhia Road when he lost control of the company truck.
He skidded onto the shoulder, hitting a guardrail and crashing through a pasture fence.
The truck then landed on its side in the pasture and spilled its load 50 to 60 feet beyond the intersection.
Police believe that speed may have been a factor in the accident.
