At this month’s Vegetarian Society luncheon on Sunday, Chef Jennifer Murray of the Blossoming Lotus restaurant will share tips, techniques, and recipes for cakes, cookies, bon-bons, savory baked goods and raw food desserts. Murray is a vegan baker, chef, teacher and most recently cookbook author.
Three years managing the Lotus Root Juice Bar and Bakery in Kapa‘a provided her with a wealth of knowledge and experience in the field of vegan baking. Jennifer and her husband Mark Reinfeld teach vegan cooking, baking, and raw food classes. Their latest cookbook endeavor, “The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Eating Raw,” is due out in July.
Everyone is welcome to join us for a vegan potluck luncheon and baking demonstration noon Sunday at the Kapa‘a Neighborhood Center. Bring a vegan dish and include an ingredient list. Original recipes are encouraged. Potlucks are free and open to the public. Prize awarded for best vegan recipe.
Those who prefer not to bring a dish are welcome with a donation of $5. Kapa‘a Neighborhood Center is located at 4491 Kou Street off of Kuhio Hwy. For more info call 337- 9977 or visit VSH.org.
