Mahalo to Marlena Bunao for those piping hot malasadas that are just the perfect pick-me-up between the Super Star Kaua‘i and Operation Military Appreciation. Marlena was open on Saturday and kept packaging those goodies.
More mahalo to Lisa Iida and Sam Koga for helping get results from the Rotary Youth Basketball and the state Mustang tournament so TGI readers can be kept on top of the events.
Congratulations to Tom Tannery on the opening of the new YMCA Olympic-sized swimming pool.
Edee Bandman was there since her daughter was in charge of doing the oli for the Hawaiian phase of the dedication and even if kumu Wallis Punua couldn’t make it, his Rohotu dancers were there.
Donna Schulze is excited about the pool as well. She starts teaching next Monday and her only disappointment was U.S. Senator Daniel Inouye couldn’t make the opening ceremonies.
So with the big Fourth of July weekend coming, check out Karen Matsumoto’s 15 Under girls basketball tournament, Dondi Viquelia and the Kaua‘i PONY baseball people will have their Bronco state tournament in Hanapepe, and Sandra Tedder has been busy getting the Kaua‘i Hospice “Concert in the Sky” ready to open, Friday afternoon.
Bobby Kamakele said the Kaulupono Girls will be playing in the basketball tournament and selling food at the Pacific Missile Range Facility Fourth festivities on Thursday as well.
Whatever you do, stay safe! Happy Fourth, Kaua‘i!
