Jolynne Uyesono has a bunch of new stuff at the Kaua‘i Community College bookstore starting with new uniforms the staff has to wear.
Hope Rabang (she was student employee of the year, once) was helping Noel Mock, manager-in-training, on a temporary basis because the store has been “smashed” during registration and the first days of class.
Congratulations to Jo Evans and the Photo Walk, Saturday! Carol Ann Davis sent in a photo (does she know how to work Photoshop?) and I guess if Dr. Thomas Grollman wasn’t there, it wasn’t a photo event. OK, the big question is, are we going to be able to see who won the photo of the day?
OK, time to get ready for the farm fair. Melissa McFerrin has been working really hard, and there’re new parking arrangements because of the irrigation in the baseball outfield, but that’s why Col. Jerald Knudsen (he said the Kapa‘a girls air rifle team should be good this year) and his Jr. ROTC cadets will be helping with parking. Roy Oyama was busy helping, Saturday, and Clarence “Shorty” Kaona came out from his taro fields to work with Mamo Kaneshiro, Randy Uyehara and Kelly Gooding.
Ralph Suniga is ready with the Coca Cola, and even coach Dustin Gummerus was out in the field (what’s the new flavor this year?) readying for the fair.
If Jack Vohl is in the finals of the Super Stars Kaua‘i (8 p.m., Friday), who is going to tape the Waimea High School game against Maui? Jack was elected to tape the Kaua‘i High School game and got wet like the rest of us. Liz Ronaldson got the benefit of the tent and didn’t go to the game.
