Congratulations to Kendra Vega, this year’s grand prize winner. Not only is she from Kaua‘i, she’s Lani’s second grand prize winner. Lani opened the Princeville Library and got her first winner within a year of the library opening. Now, she’s at Kapa‘a and got another state winner.
Lt. Larry Groenleer and his Hanapepe Salvation Army are hosting its annual lu‘au this evening and will be featuring food from Gaylord’s (did Paige and Russ Talvi come back from Alaska, yet?) as well as entertainment from kumu hula Doric Yaris. Hopefully, there are still tickets left. It’ll be a great deal.
David Allio said there will be drag racing in Mana tonight as well. And, if you need more reasons to head west, the Hanapepe Soto Zenshuji Mission is also hosting its bon dance … great flying saucers there, too.
