Reed Ogino of Maui recently shot a hole-in-one at the Puakea Golf Course.
Ogino used his 9 iron for 115 yards on the No. 16 hole.
His feat was witnessed by golf partners Wesley Park, Gary Furugen and Francis Oune.
Gold-medal cowgirl comes to Kaua‘i
The Kaua‘i All Girls Rodeo Association will host a horsemanship and barrel racing clinic with world champion cowgirl and Olympic Gold Medal winner Marlene McRae on October 10, 11 and 12 at The Farias Arena in Wailua.
McRae is a 10-time qualifier for the National Finals Rodeo, a two-time Olympic Gold Medal winner and honoree of the Cowgirl Hall of Fame.

Tami Yamamoto, educational chairman of the All Girls Rodeo Association, stated that “Marlene has devoted her life to being the best at her profession. She teaches, trains, competes and wins. With her credentials and accomplishments comes experience, the kind of experience that enables Marlene to personally assist others of all ages and ability levels in learning and achieving their goals with their horses. Marlene believes in learning the basics and teaching your horse to do them. She emphasizes a solid foundation prior to adding speed.”
The horse and rider fee for the three day clinic is $250 total. Spectators are invited to watch and audit for $35 per day.
