For mystery lovers, parents with youngsters, rare book collectors and anyone else who enjoys a good read, the Lihu‘e library’s Fall Used Book Sale is more like a treasure hunt.
The sale is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at the conference room of the Lihu‘e Public Library, 4344 Hardy St., across from Elsie Wilcox Elementary School and next to St. Michael’s Church.
An array of books will be available for sale at low prices, including Hawaiiana, children’s books, reference books, self-help, mysteries, art books, travel volumes, foreign language, religion, science, literature, poetry — even video tapes and CDs.
Most books are 50 cents per paperback and $1 for hardcovers. However, some first editions, and a few rare or particularly valuable books may have special posted prices. Proceeds from the sale will benefit library services and programs such as the teen summer reading program.
The materials on sale represent books that are removed from library stocks during regular maintenance of the collections, as well as donated volumes.
