Costumed keiki meet at Kukui Grove Center Stage to assemble for the trick or treat parade at the mall.
On the half hour from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Aloha Dance Studio will perform its interpretation of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.”
Register at 5 p.m. for the KONG FM “Howl and Growl” keiki monster contest. Gifts and prizes will be given away. The contest begins at 6 p.m., followed at 7 p.m. by a free showing of the movie “Scooby Do.” Keiki must meet at Center Stage before trick or treating.
Kapa‘a Missionary Church harvest festival

Halloween sail around the harbor
4:30 p.m., Nawiliwili Harbor
The Nawiliwili Yacht Club hosts its annual Halloween costume sailing race. The race may be viewed from the Nawiliwili Harbor jetty. This is the final race of the year.
Tips for safe trick or treating
• Children should go out during daylight hours only unless accompanied by a responsible adult.
• Plan a safe route so parents know where their older kids will be at all times and set a time for their return home.
• Make sure your children are old enough and responsible enough to go out by themselves.
• Let your children know not to cut through back alleys and fields.
• Make sure they know to stay in populated places.
• Stop only at familiar houses in your own neighborhood unless accompanied by an adult.
• Small children should never be allowed to go out alone on Halloween.
• Tell your children not to eat any treats until they bring them home to be examined.
• Tell your keiki to never go into the home of a stranger or get into their car.
• Make sure your child carries a flashlight, glow stick or has reflective tape on their costume.
• Let them know that they should stay together as a group if trick or treating without an adult.
