Toshio Ishida of Numila, died on Oct. 16, 2008, at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital at the age of 90. Born on April 20, 1918, in Makaweli, he was a retired chemist with McBryde Sugar Co.
He is survived by a son Wendel (Karen) Ishida of Kalaheo; daughters Gwendolyn (Richard) Teragawa of Hanapepe and Lyndel (Wilfred) Chikahiro of Lawa‘i; eight grandchildren Iris (Marvin) Hesapene, Tammy (Brian) Kuniyoshi, Rachelle (Mark) Mararagan, Ginny (Blaine) Agena, Brad (Holly) Chikahiro, Chad (Laree) Chikahiro, Clarice Yoshimoto and Crystal Ishida; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Sueko Kawane and Jane Kurokawa.
Friends may visit with the family from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25, at the Kauai Veterans Cemetery Pavilion.
Service officiated by Rev. Hashimoto will begin at 11 a.m. Casual attire is suggested.
