The American Institute of Architects Sustainable Design Assessment Team project will take place tomorrow and Friday.
The goal of the project is to provide a planning template for the upcoming Lihu‘e Development Plan update.
The Lihue Business Association public forum held in July, presented by team leader AIA Vice President Peter Arsenault, previewed the SDAT project.
The first session, “Lihu‘e’s baby luau: Planning our keiki’s future,” will have a townhall format, allowing for input and ideas on what the community should look like economically, socially, environmentally and culturally a generation from now.
The first session will take place tomorrow from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Veterans Center on Kapule Highway in Lihu‘e.
The second session, “A template for Lihu‘e’s tomorrow,” will feature a presentation by the SDAT team based on three intensive days of planning with local government and community participants in partnership with the AIA volunteer experts. The second session will be held on Friday, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., also at the Veterans Center.
