Kua, the most heralded of the bunch, was the four-time Interscholastic League of Honolulu champion out of Kamehameha Schools-Kapalama. As a junior, Kua finished second at the state tournament and helped his team capture the team championship. Sawada was the four-time O‘ahu Interscholastic Association golfer of the year, who won a local qualifier to advance to the 2008 U.S. Public Links. Calip, a 2008 Kamehameha Schools-Hawai‘i graduate, placed third at the state tournament as a junior.
World Travelers: In March, the Warriors will travel to Japan to compete in the Naris Cup in Okayama. The 54-hole tournament is hosted by Osaka Gakuin University and will take place at the Sakushu Musashi Golf Club.
