HONOLULU — The University of Hawai‘i Rainbow Wahine volleyball team had seven players named to the 2008 All-Western Athletic Conference teams, including WAC Player of the Year Jamie Houston and WAC Freshman of the Year Kanani Danielson.
Four Hawai‘i players were named to the first team. Along with Houston and Danielson, juniors Amber Kaufman and Aneli Cubi-Otineru were also named first team all-WAC.
Seniors Tara Hittle and Nickie Thomas were joined by sophomore Dani Mafua on the all-WAC second team.
Danielson and Stephanie Ferrell also earned honors on the WAC all-freshman team.
Hawai‘i hosts Boise State to start the WAC Tournament at 7:30 p.m. today. The tournament kicks off at 9:30 a.m., as No. 8 seed Fresno State faces No. 9 Louisiana Tech.
