X-mas trees ready for pickup
The trees are in. From noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday, those who pre-ordered holiday trees from the Mokihana Aquatics swim club will be able to pick them up behind the Two Frogs Hugging parking lot.
There are still a few trees available for purchase. For more information, call 651-4216.
In related news, three of Mokihana Aquatics’ swimmers have qualified and will be attending the 29th Annual Ken Suenaga Pearl City Invitational on O‘ahu this weekend. Kaitlyn Jarry, Kaitlin Santos and Yasmine Ware will be competing in multiple events there.
Starlings tryouts this weekend
Tryouts for the Starlings Pu‘uwai Girls Volleyball Club will be held on Saturday and Sunday at the Bernice Hundley Gym at Kapa‘a High School.
Girls 14 and Under will try out from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and Girls 16 and Under and 18 and Under from 7 to 9 p.m.
There is a $10 tryout fee.

Waimea looking for varsity football coach
Waimea High School is looking for a head varsity football coach.
Applications for the position are available at his office and the deadline for submitting the filled-out forms is Dec. 4.

Archery club holding Unmarked Shoot
The Hawaii Island Archery Club will be holding an NFAA- Sanctioned Hawai‘i State 3D Unmarked Shoot on the Big Island. The shoot will be held on Dec. 6, at Kapapala Ranch located in Ka‘u at the 40 mile marker on Hwy 11.
Registration and bow check will be from 7 to 8:45 a.m., orientation and target assignment — 8:45 to 9 a.m., shoot will start at 9 a.m. NFAA rules and speed limit will apply for those shooting for NFAA championship. Catagories and fees are: adults $25; young adults (15 to 17) $20; youth (12 to 14) $15; cubs (9 to 11) $10; PeeWee (8 and under) $5. Lunch and refreshments will be provided with entry fees. Kapa‘a basketball to hold Green and White
The Kapa‘a High School boys basketball program will host its Green and White fundraising game on Dec. 7 at the Bernice Hundley Gym.
JV games will tip off at 5:30 p.m. with the varsity matchup to follow.
Tickets for the benefit at $5 for adults and $3 for students.
