Kudos to Aunty Kapu Kinimaka-Alquiza and the performers of Na Hula O Kaohikukapulani for another great Holiday Hula show.
The next one on the agenda is Leilani Bond and her show this Sunday at the Hilton Kaua‘i Beach Resort starting at 7 p.m.
Kudos, too, to Paul Pancho and the Kaua‘i Pop Warner Association for wrapping up its 2008 season with the Shrine Bowl, Sunday. Tasha Daligcon was still flying from the news that Kekaha Chargers cheer (will they be in the Waimea Christmas parade Saturday?) had medalled at the national competition.
Coach Bryan Aiwohi had to forego the baseball camp as did Coach Destry Carvalho since they were busy at the Shrine Bowl. The weather cooperated, and have you noticed how hard it is to talk to Lenny Rapozo now that he’s the head of the Parks and Recreation department?
Kelvin Moniz got his new shirt stained from the mud and kudos to Corey Aguano and the Koloa staff on being such great hosts to the Mexicali Zorros (Hawaiian food was on the menu for the post-game potluck).
Speaking of Corey, he and coach Dustin Gummerus, Arthur and Meagan Rice and the ‘ohana celebrated the grand opening of the Brick Oven Pizza in Wailua, taking the space where the Wailua Family Restaurant used to be. The place is buzzing with people looking for good pizza. Check it out.
And if you need something to do, Child and Family Services needs volunteers to help wrap Christmas gifts for their clients. Call Margaret Smith at 245-5914. They do it again tomorrow from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m.
