Lei Ham Young Niau
Lei “Girlie” Ham Young Niau died on Dec. 2, 2008 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 85.
Born on Feb. 9, 1923 in Hanapepe, she was a sales clerk.
Preceded in death by husband Louis D. Niau; brothers John H. Young and Richard Ham Young.
Survived by sons L. Steven (Patti) Niau of Lawai, David H. Niau of Honolulu and Michael D. (Myra) Niau of Lawai; daughters Wilma L. Mack (Lee) of Utah, Momi Livingston of Ele‘ele, Pearl L. Kelii (Lionel) of Honolulu and Gail N. Masuda (Bruce) of Kaumakani; 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers Joseph (Betsy) Young of San Diego, Calif. and Abe Ham Young of Las Vegas, Nev.; half brothers, Ben (Susan) Kali, Sr. and Robert (Kathleen) Kali both of Hanapepe; half sisters, Janet Ortiz, Winefred Kali and Rebecca Freitas all of Hanapepe.
Friends may visit with the family from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Dec. 9, 2008 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Kalaheo Ward; service at 11 a.m. with burial to follow at the Hanapepe Cemetery. Casual attire is requested.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary.
Martin Gary Munkacsi
Martin Gary Munkacsi died on Dec. 1, 2008 at home at the age of 43.
Born on July 7, 1965 in New York, he was an auto technician.
Preceded in death by his father, Gary Eugene Munkacsi.
He is survived by his wife Florence Munkacsi of Kilauea; mother Connie Bowman, sister Karin Munkacsi-Whitley both of Lakeland, Fla.; step-son Kelly Soares of California, step-daughters Kim Soares and Dionne Kamalani both of Wailua Homesteads; seven grandchildren.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
In his memory donations may be made to Kauai Hospice.
Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home is assisting the Munkacsi family with arrangements.
Eldon William Morris
Eldon William Morris died on Dec. 2, 2008 at Waimea at the age of 86.
Born on March 16, 1922 in Springfield, Ohio, he was a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Air Force.
Survived by wife Betty Lou (Poock) Morris; sons Phillip Lee (Jane) Baker of New Castle, Ohio, Thomas Eldon (Jeanett) of Golden, Colo. and Timothy Earl Morris of Waipahu, Hawai‘i; daughters Phyllis Ann Meighen of Hanapepe, Hawai‘i and Lisa Ann Bailo of Crescenta, Calif.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family from 3 to 4 p.m. on Dec. 11, 2008 at the Hanapepe United Church of Christ.
Service and burial will take place on another date at Arlington Cemetery in Virginia.

Dickson Kanekeawe Kahalioumi
Dickson Kanekeawe Kahalioumi died Nov. 29, 2008, at Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu at age 74.
Born April 9, 1934 in Kealakekua, Kona, he retired from Coco Cola Bottling Company.
Service will be Dec. 12 at the Malia Puka O Kalani Catholic Church. Viewing and visiting with family from 7 to 10:15 a.m. Mass at 10:30 a.m., cremation to follow.
Inurnment will take place at Punchbowl Cemetery on O‘ahu at a later date.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Kahalioumi of Hilo; seven sons, Ronald (Judy) Auwae of Waikoloa, Kensworth Kahalioumi of Waikoloa, Keenan “Kalani” Kahalioumi of Keaukaha, Kristen “Bully” (Tara) Kahalioumi of Kailua, Darrel “Hatsu” Constantino of Hilo, Bernard “Butchie” Lancaster of Hanapepe and Michael (Shauna) Lancaster of Puna; seven daughters, Raelee Awai of Hilo, Kiehm Kahalioumi of Kailua, Doreen (Wayne) Millare of Hilo, Naomi (Terence) Wakuta of Kapa‘a, and Stephanie Iwai, Audrey Akuna and Ermine Akuna, all of Kaua‘i; hanai sister, Sharon Moke Becktel of Hilo; 42 grandchildren; 54 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Nobuichi Kasahara
Nobuichi Kasahara of Waimea died Nov. 28, 2008, at Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Hospital at age 87.
Born Aug. 14, 1921, in Waimea, he retired as a powerhouse operator for the Kekaha Sugar Plantation Company.
He is survived by his wife, Grace; sisters, Toshie (George) Okino of O‘ahu, Fujie (Walter) Takiguchi of O‘ahu, and Edith Chieko (Kenneth) Kobayakawa of California; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Private services were held.
Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the Kasahara family with the arrangements.
