MLB players headline clinic
Kaua‘i’s Tyler Yates and Maui’s Shane Victorino of the World Champion Philadelphia Phillies will headline the West O‘ahu Baseball/Kama‘aina Kids clinic on Dec. 13 and 14 at the Lihu‘e County Park.
MLB players joining the training staff include infielder Jeff Bailey of the Boston Red Sox, pitcher Justin Germano, pitcher Caesar Ramos, catcher Cold Morton, outfielder Drew Macias, all of the San Diego Padres. Just yesterday, organizers announced that San Francisco Giants’ Nate Schierholtz and Cleveland Indian and Hawai‘i Pacific University grad Kaimi Mead has been added to the list.
The clinic is designed for young baseball players to take advantage of having personalized attention in developing basic baseball skills.
Players between the age 13 and 18 years old will take the field in the morning from 8:30 a.m. through 12:30 p.m., and players 8 to 12 will take the field from then to 4:30 p.m., on both days.

Mens’ soccer league opens Sunday
The Afterburners will take on Kryptonite in a 3:30 p.m. game Sunday as the Kaua‘i Mens’ Soccer league opens its season at Vidinha Stadium.
Following that game, Hanalei takes on Cane Fire in a 6 p.m. match.
