Paul Togioka gave Kaua‘i people a taste of why he was nominated for a Grammy award. His rendering of Christmas carols on a banjo Friday night atop the Hawaiian Telcom float was very unique. Sunday, he went back to his guitar to provide music that blended perfectly with the National Tropical Botanical Garden craft fair.
Anela Lauren’s harp also fit the spread-out atmosphere under the shade of monkeypod trees with the wafting aroma of garlic shrimp and fish tacos completing the picture.
Bruce and Christy Parsil were both enjoying some fish tacos with Glenn and Carla Kaser, and fish taco creator Asanti Fuller told Heather Thompson she was going to be famous.
Tomilyn Clark of Kilauea came all the way from the North Shore with her fused glass fish art. Actually, she said she’s been doing it for more than 15 years and has items ranging from rat magnets to stars, but is more known for her fish.
