Coach Bobby Rapozo will have to stay excited until later this week since Saturday’s KIF soccer games got rained out.
Bobby said she didn’t know Kenny Rapozo was performing at Kukui Grove until Friday, but came to the mall to enjoy the family outing. Kent got to play bass for “a couple of numbers,” and Christian Perdue (remember that name from inline hockey?) was waiting to pick up the ukulele instead of the bass.
Similarly, Kiana Okino was called upon to do vocals and hula, but kept picking up the ukulele before each number. She finally got to do some of both in the “Jingle Bell Rock” finale.
Speaking of ukulele, Hans and Karen Hellriegel were in the audience since Hans was enjoying the Kenny Rapozo students play the blue (yes, blue) “Elvis” instrument made by Panama.
This is going to be a busy week at Kukui Grove with Ilima Rivera having her keiki out Wednesday evening and Thursday morning followed by Mark James (he was at the Theresa Koki underage drinking meeting, Thursday) doing his CD release of “A Kaua‘i Christmas” Thursday night.
Teresa James (she was a Red Ribbon winner) will also be on hand, and may even do a Christmas hula, or two.
Now, will the Starlights have a special Christmas show since it’s the Friday before Christmas?
