Edward Lopatka
Edward Lopatka died on Nov. 24, 2008, at home at the age of 78.
Born on Sept. 4, 1930, in Chicago, Ill., he was a retired school psychologist.
Preceeded in death by parents Victoria and Leo Lopatka; twin brother Ted Lopatka.
Survived by wife Linda; mother-in-law Kathryn Lee; daughter Cathy (Mark) Walker of Ill., son Michael (Ann) Rauh of Ill., Amy (Michael) McClain of Lihu‘e, Elizabeth Rauh of Maui, Margaret Rauh of Ill., Mary Rauh of New York, John Paul (Liz) Rauh of N.C.; 12 grandchildren, one great-grandson, one niece and one nephew.
A celebration of his life will be held on Dec. 13, at Immaculate Conception Church with viewing from 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Mass will be held at 10 a.m. with cremation to follow.
Inurnment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Immaculate Conception Church, Catholic Charities , Kaua‘i Food Bank or Kau‘i Hospice.
Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the Lopatka family with arrangements.
Eldon Morris
Eldon William Morris died on Dec. 2, 2008, in Waimea at the age of 86.
Born on March 16, 1922, in Springfield, Ohio, he was a retired lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Air Force.
Survived by wife Betty Lou (Poock) Morris; sons Phillip Lee (Jane) Baker of Carilise, Ohio, Thomas Eldon (Jeanette) of Golden, Colo., and Timothy Earl Morris of Waipahu, Hawai‘i; daughters Phyllis Ann Meighen of Hanapepe, Hawai‘i, and Lisa Jane Bailo of La Crescenta, Calif.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family from 3 to 4 p.m. on Dec. 11, at the Hanapepe United Church of Christ; service at 4 p.m.
Burial will take place on another date at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary.
Chiyomi Morimoto
Chiyomi Morimoto died on Dec. 2, 2008, at Wilcox Hospital Hospital at the age of 87.
Born on March 3, 1921, in ‘Ele‘ele, she was a housewife.
Survived by husband Masahiro Morimoto; sons Howard Morimoto of Kaua‘i, Clifford Morimoto of Honolulu; Wayne Morimoto of Kaua‘i; daughter Janet Isono of Honolulu; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 3 p.m., Dec. 12, at the Garden Island Mortuary chapel.
Casual attire is suggested and flowers omitted.
