Oride, one of two Kaua‘i golfers playing in the Maui tournament, finished two strokes ahead of Summer Mizusawa (75-79-154) to top the 15-18 Girls flight under sunny and cool conditions.
Alika Bell of Kaneohe topped the 15-18 Boys flight with a total score of 140 (71-69).
Cassy Isagawa held onto an early lead to finish first in the 13-14 Girls division with a total score of 140 (68-72), and Marissa Shigesato, playing in the 13-14 Girls division, carded a hole-in-one on the No. 8, 154 yards, during the Saturday round.
Aaron Kunitomo topped the Boys 13-14 division with a 4-under par 140 (71-69), just a stroke better than Alex Chiarella (69-7-141) and Kalena Preus (73-68-141).
John Oda topped the Boys 11-12 class with a 1-over par 145 (73-72) and Allisen Corpuz finished a stroke better than Eimi Koga (71-76-147) to top the Girls 11-12 division with a 146 (76-60), Corpuz coming back from a 5-stroke deficit against Koga following Saturday’s round.
Kyle Suppa was two strokes better than Justin Ngan (76-74-150) to take the Boys 10 & Under division with a 148 (72-76) and Mariel Galdiano dominated the Girls 10 & Under division with a 147 (73-74).
Levi Miyashiro, the second Kaua‘i golfer in the tournament, finished 16th in the Boys 15-18 division with a score of 162 (82-80).
According to Lauren Yama, the Hawai‘i State Junior Golf Association director of marketing and communications, the tournament was made possible through the title sponsorship of Mr. and Mrs. C. Pardee Erdman Jr. of Ulupalakua Ranch and the tournament host Wailea Golf Club.
