That tidbit came after grandma Gwen Carveiro got her on the phone. Hats off to the Carveiros, who are the focal point of seven families on Onihi Lane that go all-out with the holiday cheer.
Rose Fune brought over some Christmas cookies and Susan Lang had time to rush over more cookies between batches. Too bad Juan Lorenzo had to rush off to class and Megan Rice was off to relieve people at Brick Oven Pizza.
Hats off to the Lappert’s people on their 25th anniversary giveaway! Kori Sakamoto is waiting for the KIF girls basketball season to start and Uilani Acosta did a great job with the Koloa gingerbread house. Kori said Uilani is from Lanai and Maui, take your pick.
People are still talking about the Waimea Christmas parade (Gwen said everybody came to check out the lights after the parade) since Cheyenne Duarte has graduated from Kaulupono Girls and now plays for the Waimea High School girls basketball program that was selling food outside Big Save.
Kori also plays for the Menehune and Vakeesha Lagazo sold the lucky spaghetti (shoyu on rice) dinner to sisters Rachele and Leilani Higashi and Josie Sasaki(-Higashi).
Merry Christmas, Kaua‘i! Lucky we live here!
