Hawaiian Airlines promotes Miranda Scott
Hawaiian Airlines announced today that Miranda Scott has been promoted to senior director of business development.
In her expanded role, Scott will be putting increased emphasis on creating new online business opportunities for the company at HawaiianAirlines.com.
Scott joined Hawaiian in April 2007 as director of business development and was tasked with overseeing the Web site’s new vacation packages program, managing the company’s online agency partners, and seeking new business strategies to increase online sales.
A native of Kailua, Scott is a Punahou School alumnus.
SBA district director to retire
After a 17-year run as Hawai‘i district director of the U.S. Small Business Administration, Andrew K. Poepoe will retire from his position effective at the end of the calendar year.
Poepoe has led the agency since November 1991, capping a successful career in the private sector and in government service.
Poepoe has been instrumental in establishing many new and successful programs, significantly increasing SBA funding to small businesses and expanding opportunities in government contracting for Hawai‘i small businesses.
Texeira valedictorian at police academy
Brandi Texeira, a police officer with the New Mexico State University Police Department, graduated from the New Mexico Law Enforcement Academy in Santa Fe as the class valedictorian.
Texeira, a 2003 Kaua‘i High School graduate and 2007 graduate of NMSU, was one of 47 officers from around the state to graduate from the 20-week academy on Nov. 26 as part of Class No. 176. Texeira took top academic honors, along with one of the physical fitness awards.
Prior to joining the NMSU Police Department, Texeira graduated from NMSU with a major in Criminal Justice and a minor in Information Technology and Intelligence Studies. While working in the NMSU Athletic Department as an undergraduate, Texeira was in the Alpha Phi Sigma honor society for two years, on the Dean’s list for four years, and won awards in several national competitions.
The New Mexico State University has a population of approximately 35,000 people which includes 31,000 of student enrollment and 5000 of faculty and staff. NMSU also has its on Fire Department.
Texeira is the daughter of Bobby and Carol Texeira, and currently resides in Las Cruces, NM.
