Dr. Lloyd Fujimoto missed out on the soccer goodies since he went to watch daughter Meghan play basketball in Waimea. It was Kaua‘i’s final home game and they had some tasty treats — goteborg and rice musubi (looks like sushi), lilikoi mochi (taking notes Aunty Lilikoi?), some ono almond cookies that you can’t find in any store and a whole bunch more.
Of course, Waimea had its share of goodies, too. The question is how do the schools figure out which Snickers bar is being sold by whom? And, if you went to Tuesday night’s game, you would’ve been able to meet Detroit Lion Jordon Dizon (former Menehune) and his ‘ohana.
Beau Acoba had a new color man for the girls basketball game. Christian Tangalin took the place of Mariebeth Watanabe who was doing the color during the Tuesday night boys’ game, and of course, there’s always Joyce Evens who does the Clem Gomes Gym honors.
Hats off to Jolynne Uyesono, Noel Mock and the KCC bookstore staff on a great Tech Fair. It was nice to see all the new Apple products. Unfortunately, Kepano Kekuewa, the Apple rep, was busy with all kinds of customers so couldn’t speak with him, but Jason Tanaka (he’s from Hilo, but lives on O‘ahu now) had experience doing the Tech Fairs on both O‘ahu and Hilo so came to help the crew. Sheane Talbo Mandrigues even got him an official KCC bookstore staff shirt.
