Joseph Vegas was all over the Kaua‘i Community College campus, Monday. It was the first day of school and everything needed to be working so he was busy.
Wayne Miyata got to check out the first day offering at the cafeteria. Nikki Lucidarme and Mel Bacio make a good team on that food line…the noodles never really ran out, and Clarence Nishi was checking out the action from behind the cookies. Wayne said the Chip and Dip event they had in December was really good, and Clarence said the person who bought his piece got some dip left over as a bonus.
One of the good things about first day at KCC is that Hope Rabang gets to come back and help at the bookstore. If you saw Elika Sakazaki (his dad Eric does a mean call during the Big Save Texas Hold ‘Em), you would think he was going to a fancy party, but Sheane Mandrigues (she had some fancy new laptop computer bags going out) said that was because he had to work at Macy’s afterwards.
OK, so mark your calendars for Jan. 23 because that’s when Chef Jason Sunada said the KCC Bake Sale starts. It runs for six Fridays following that date and everything ends with the Grand Buffet on Mar. 4.
‘Nuff said…it’s time to go check out KIF soccer and basketball.
