Join Island School’s fifth grade class for the musical production, “Prince Ugly” in the school’s main hall.
Prince William (Makenna Olson) was cursed at birth by his jealous aunt, Lady Rebecca of Steppington (Emily Threlkeld). He would be ugly that no one would be able to look at him. The curse would be broken only when William made a true friend.
But William is really only ugly on the inside. He’s mean. He breaks the rules. He doesn’t play nicely. Of course no one wants to be his friend. As the story develops William learns with the help of the Royal Housekeeper, Megan, (Brianna Griep) what true friendship really means.
“Prince Ugly” is being produced with permission from playwright Matt Buchanan and directed by Peggy Ellenburg. Music direction is by Rosie Alfiler. A team of parents made the costumes, props and sets.
Also in the cast are: Scott Kilcoyne and Savannah Tripoli as King Bruce and Queen Daisy; Mattea Wortmann and Raymond Duarte as the Storytellers; A.J. Ort as Maurice, the Royal Chef; Justin Pajela and Gianna D’Annibale as the Royal Secretary and Prime Minister; Saige Akana, Kai Anderson, Layton Fleege, Midori Galante, Caitlin Miyahara, Amanda Nguyen, ‘Eleu Ota, Sam Skinner, Daniel Wu and Steven Yannarell.
