KAPA‘A — Da Eh Team finished with a win and a tie while Team Todd ended the weekend series with two ties in the Bantam division of the Kaua‘i Inline Hockey Association.
Trevor McCracken finished with four goals and two assists to lead Da Eh Team to a 9-6 edge over the Devils in the opener of a Sunday double-header and added two goals in its 4-4 stalemate against Team Todd in the final Sunday match.
Team Todd got two goals from Kala Yee and a pair from Ben Steuri, Friday night in its 6-6 stalemate against the Devils who deadlocked the match on a goal from Marcus Punua with seven minutes remaining.
Ben Steuri finished with a hat trick and Jacob Lewis had a goal and two assists in Sunday’s 4-4 stalemate against Da Eh Team.
Shannon Sitzler, Chanel Tremblay and Kalena Harder each finished with hat tricks in the Green Machine’s 11-8 shoot-a-thon in Friday night’s Squirt division matchup. Tremblay added an assist and following the scoring leaders, Derek Soong netted a goal with Brody Soong finishing with a goal and an assist.
Kainalu Gandia had four goals and Joshua Lakatos paced the Devils with a hat trick followed by Malia Alonzo with a goal and Jessica Mowery adding an assist.
Mathias Davis finished with 31 saves on 42 shots as goalkeeper for the Devils while Tomas Sanchez, goalkeeping for the Green Machine ended with 18 saves on 25 shots.
Daniel Alonzo, goaltending for the Bantam Da Eh Team, opened Sunday’s double-header with 39 saves on 45 shots and closed with 27 saves on 41 shots against Team Todd.
Joining McCracken in the scoring against Team Todd, Matthias Davis finished with two goals and Christian Perdue had an assist.
Against the Devils in the Sunday opener, Matthias Davis finished with a hat trick and an assist following McCracken’s four-goal lead. Christian Perdue and Kirsten McCracken each netted a goal with Kirsten adding two assists, and Perdue adding one assist.
Marcus Punua and Kainalu Gandia each finished with two goals to lead the Devils’ scoring, Marcus Punua getting an assist in the effort. Edward Punua Jr. finished with a goal and an assist, Matthias Davis had a goal and Cydney Sitzler added two assists in the effort.
Iki Punua had 32 saves on 41 shots as the Devils’ goalkeeper.
Stephanie Steuri, the Team Todd goalie, finished Friday night’s outing with 34 saves on 40 shots and 40 saves on 48 shots, Sunday.
Jacob Lewis had a goal and an assist and Noah leggett had an assist in the Sunday effort following Ben Steuri’s lead.
Zack Lewis and Nick Leggett followed the lead set by Yee and Ben Steuri, Friday night with a goal each.
Matthias Davis, the Bantam Devils’ goalkeeper, finished with 31 saves on 37 shots.
Marcus Punua set the pace, scoring a hat trick followed by Austin Taylor adding a goal and an assist along with Cydney Sitzler. Chanel Tremblay had a goal.
The Midget “A” swept its weekend series, taking Midget “B” 5-3, Friday, and getting a 6-1 win, Sunday.
In the Sunday win, Brandon Muraoka finished with a hat trick followed by Brian McCracken netting a goal after taking an assist from Bryan Bodine on a high-powered goal. Eddie Kane scored a goal with Mika Givens and John Masterson each adding assists for the Midget “A.”
Brian McCracken was the high scorer for the Friday night win with two goals, his first coming on assists by Kane and Muraoka. Muraoka added his own goal along with Masterson and Mark Wojcinski.
Jaime Pablo finished Friday night with 37 saves on 40 shots and 43 saves on 44 shots, Sunday.
Zachary Rodriguez had the sole goal for Midget “B,” Sunday and one goal, Friday. Justin Fujikawa finished with two goals and an assist, Friday night with Tyson Wakayama adding an assist.
Greg Balmores, the Midget “B” goalkeeper, had 26 saves on 31 shots, Friday and 29 saves on 35 shots, Sunday.
There will be no games this weekend due to spring break, but three make up games on April 3 and three make up games on April 5. Playoffs start on April 17.
