Scott Nakamatsu said he was feeling old since Kaua‘i High School tennis coaches Brad Lum Tucker and Eddie Kane were both playing in the KIF when he was coaching. Add to that, Scott said Waimea coach Paulette Lum coached him when he was playing. But it’s all good, Scott.
Carolyn Lum was helping with chores at the Saturday match at the Kaua‘i Lagoons court where Al Castillo was spending some time with his daughter before having to get out to Kekaha.
Beth Tokioka was nervous about the live streaming video of Mayor Bernard Carvalho’s first quarterly report, but everything worked out fine. J Robertson checked in to make sure everything was hooked up, and the event was almost as exciting as elections from a media standpoint since Ron Wiley was there and Jason Fujinaka. Does the Rooster Country (that’s JK’s new favorite spot on the FM dial) have a reporter? It’s actually a good stopping point when AM 940 gets those blank spots.
Stephanie Iona (she got to present the lei on behalf of the visitor industry) had the Syngenta Seeds people in tow and said she had to come early because she was worried about traffic in Waimea town.
OK, guess it’s time to leave early since there’s KIF boys volleyball opening at Waimea High School.
