If you’re heading to the Princeville Library (they’ve got their 10th anniversary coming up) on Friday, make sure Jennifer Relacion is working, and don’t forget to wish her a happy birthday. The same applies if you’re at the Kapa‘a Product Fair … stop in and wish Don Ogasawara a happy birthday, too!
Kudos to KPD Sgt. Ken Carvalho (he’ll be at the March for Babies, April 4 at Lydgate) on doing a great job with the DARE conference that opened Monday at the Hilton Kaua‘i Beach Resort. Retro Bill (aka Bill Russ) was great and it was nice to see Gary Shimabukuro listed as one of the keynote speakers.
Theresa Koki was planning on attending and Bill Arakaki had some of his principals at the event as well. Chief Darryl Perry was remembering his referee-ing days from last year’s basketball program with Bill Troutman (don’t forget his birthday, April 19 … if you need tickets, check with Ellen Edmands’ husband).
James Hughes of the Kaua‘i Food Bank wasn’t on hand to accept April being Food Bank Drive Month. Instead he was helping a stranded motorist by offering her enough to get a gallon of gas for her truck.
