Time is running out for people interested in participating in the 2nd Annual Hui Pu‘uwai Golf Tournament, said Toni Keahiolalo, the director of fun at the Sheraton Kaua‘i Resort in Po‘ipu.
Keahiolalo is afraid that if not enough golfers sign up for the tournament, it might not take place this year.
Proceeds from the Sunday, April 26 tournament support the Kaua‘i Visitor Industry Charity Walk, the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life and the Kaua‘i United Way through the Hui Pu‘uwai Charity Committee of the Sheraton Kaua‘i.
Format for the tournament scheduled at the Kiahuna Golf Club is a three-person scramble (20 percent combined team handicap).
Maximum handicap for men is 24 and 36 for women.
Entry fee is $270 per team, or $90 per individual, and includes the awards dinner and prizes at Joe’s on the Green following play.
Registration on the day of the tournament starts at 11:30 a.m., with a 12:30 p.m. shotgun start.
Opportunities for community organizations to contribute prizes and sponsorships are also available.
