Sandi Sterker said this is a Lions weekend. … Today there is the West Kaua‘i Lions Club’s spaghetti dinner at ‘Ele‘ele School cafeteria (fine dining or take-out?) starting at 5 p.m. (Eric Nordmeier and Naoko Ho still have tickets), the East Kaua‘i Lions are having its golf tournament at Wailua Golf Course (how does Kelvin Moniz get in a round and still do the Kaua‘i Food Bank collection?) and Sunday is the North Shore pancake breakfast (go check out the Gary Pacheco special). Bill Troutman said they never run out of food, and if you’re really lucky, you might see coach Mits Yokotake performing.
Larry Hunt said one of the reasons why Congresswoman Mazie Hirono couldn’t find the Kanuikapono Public Charter School was because the “Kealia Road” marker is missing from the intersection and hasn’t been replaced.
OK, time to check out Cindy Edralin (she’s going to have some of her MS Dessert cookbooks on hand) at the MS Walk and hopefully not miss too much of the Special Olympics at Vidinha Stadium. Now, since we have two road closures at the same time, which one is Lt. Mark Scribner going to be manning?
