Hats off to Tammy Pu‘u, who did a great job emcee-ing the Kaua‘i All Girls Rodeo Association Mother’s Day rodeo, Sunday. And if that’s not enough, she was out volunteering at the Leadership Kaua‘i Ka Ulu Pono, Career Awareness Conference, Thursday. Stu Burley is already getting excited about the Waimea team’s Remotely Operated Vehicle for next year’s regionals. Mary Lu Kelley of Oceanit had a diagram of Oceanit’s engineers’ work.
Ka Ulu Pono was a nice chance to meet up with a lot of people that have been busy with projects … Davis Oshiro and the biodiesel car, Leah Aiwohi and her technology program at Kaua‘i High School, and even Mr. Walter Souza, who was escorting the St. Theresa School students to the career awareness day.
Now, did anyone tell all those schools that the Kaua‘i Police Department was having an open house for Police Week? A stop there would have been a perfect way to end the field trips.
OK, time to go check out the early risers at the Visitor Industry Charity Walk.
