Yoshiko “Doris” Yamamoto Nishikawa of Lihu‘e died April 29, 2009, at home at age 95. Born July 15, 1913, in Wahiawa, O‘ahu, she was the proprietor of the Nishikawa Store on Lala Road in Lihu‘e.
She was preceded in death by husband Masanori; parents Torazo and Mume; brothers Stanley, Larry and Mitsuji; sister Kimie Yamamoto, Tamae Miyashita, Alice Hiraki and Chiyoko Iwai; and sons-in-law Hiroshi Furushima and Earl Galdeira.
She is survived by sons Edwin (Gladys) of Los Angeles, Calif., Henry (Ann) of Lihu‘e and Herbert of Lihu‘e; daughters Bessie Furushima of Lihu‘e and Frances Galdeira of Honolulu; companion Bob Taira of Lihu‘e; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 9, at Garden Island Mortuary Chapel; service 11 a.m.
Burial to follow at 3 p.m. at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens.
Casual attire is suggested and flowers may be omitted.

Graciano Meligro
Graciano “Gus” Meligro born in Kaumakani died April 29, 2009, at his home in Renton, Wash., at age 77. He served in the United States Coast Guard and worked for Boeing.
He is survived by sons Lawrence, Matthew and David; daughters Kelly and Maile; brother Pablo Maligro; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services 9:30 a.m. at Lutheran Church of the Cross, 23810 112th Avenue SE, Kent, WA 98031.
Burial at 11:30 a.m. at the Tahoma National Cemetery with reception to follow.

Grace Leolani Apana of Kapa‘a died April 22, 2009, at Pali Momi Hospital at age 70. Born Feb. 27, 1939, in Lihu‘e, she was an executive/part owner of Smith’s Motor Boat Services.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald K.H. Apana Sr.
She is survived by son Boy; daughters Puanani (Duane) Wakuta, Suzie (Keali‘i) Dabin, Momi (Francis) Kapana and Chanel (Tim) Higgins; brother Walter “Freckles” (Moki) Smith Jr.; sisters Pelma Larsen, Charlotte Kaui; grandchildren Tehani, Chivas, Shaundy, Shawna, Jetsen, Chandis, Kia, Keanu, Chaz, Chassidy, Kaeo and Duaney Boy; great-granddaughter Khloe; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation 1-2:45 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, at Kapa‘a First Hawaiian Church; services begin at 3 p.m.
Burial to follow at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens.

Stanley L. Silva
Stanley L. Silva, of Honolulu, died May 3, 2009, in Honolulu at age 83. Born Jan. 9, 1926, in Kapa‘a, he was an apprentice in the printing business.
He is survived by his daughters, Helen Marie Harlow-Silva and Carrol Silva; brothers, Waldemar and Pat; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Visitation 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13, at Borthwick Mortuary. Funeral service at 12:30 p.m. with a 2 p.m. burial at Hawai‘i State Veterans Cemetery.

Kinuko O. Ishibashi
Kinuko O. Ishibashi, of Kalaheo, died April 28, 2009, at age 96. Born May 1, 1912 in Hawai‘i, she worked in the pineapple industry.
She is survived by sons George, Paul and Robert Ishibashi, daughters Ruth Nishyama and Joyce Yokoyama, 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Private services will be held.
