Toshio Seto of Waimea died on May 21, 2009, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 89. Born Sept. 11, 1919, he was a retired labor supervisor with the County of Kaua‘i.
He is survived by son Randy (Shanlynn) Seto of Waimea; daughters Sharlene (Roy) Morimoto of Waimea, Miriam (Henry) Albarado of Waimea, Lisa (Leighton) Muraoka of ‘Ele‘ele; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister Grace Nozaki of Oahu; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation at 10:30 a.m., service at 11 a.m., June 2 at Waimea Higashi Hongwanji Mission.
Casual attire suggested; flowers are omitted.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary, LTD.
Loreen Kona
Loreen Lehuanani Kona of Kekaha died May 20, 2009, at The Queen’s Hospital in Honolulu at age 50. Born Nov. 4, 1958, in Waimea, she was a retired custodian for Waimea High School.
She was preceded in death by her husband Wallis Kona; parents Ohu and Eliza Hookano; and sister Celia Hookano.
She is survived by daughter Annanicole (Bryson) Silva of Lihu‘e; sons Clayton Kona of Waimea, Layton (Dina) Kona of Wailua; sisters Nani (Dennis) Hookano of Waimea, Roxanne Hookano of Kekaha, Joni Hookano of Kekaha; brothers Renfred (Michele) Hookano of Waimea, Lionel Hookano of Oregon, Norman (Noe) Hookano of Kekapua, Dean (Debbie) Hookano of Kekaha, Delbert Hookano of Waimea; and grandchildren Kayana Kona, Aliyah Kona and Maya Kona.
Services are Monday, June 1, in Kekaha at Mac Arthur Park (Intas). Visitation is 5-5:30 p.m.; services are 5:30-6 p.m. Scattering of ashes at a later date.
Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary in Koloa assisted with arrangements.
Casual attire is suggested.
