Brian Pacheco Jr.

Brian “Kala” Joseph Alohikala Pacheco Jr. of Hanapepe, died on June 19, 2009, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 21. Born on July 8, 1987, in O‘ahu, he was a marine crewman for charter boats.

He is survived by his father Brian (Bernadette Vea) Pacheco Sr. of Hanapepe; mother Pualokelani Ramones; sister Jennifer (Keola Pruett Sr.) Ader; nephew Keola Pruett Jr.; step brothers Bryon, Blayne and Bryson Vea; grandfather William Pacheco; numerous aunties, uncles and cousins.

A celebration of Brian’s “Kala” life will be held on Friday, June 26, at Shipwreck’s Beach at 5 p.m.

Elizabeth Lawrence

Elizabeth “Betty” Mary Lawrence died on June 12, 2009, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 82. Born on July 5, 1926, in Honoka‘a, Hawai‘i, she was a caregiver.

She is survived by brother Louie (Laura) Lawrence of Honoka‘a, sister Aida Branco of Honoka‘a, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, June 30, at Immaculate Conception Church, with visitation from 9 a.m. and Mass at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens.

Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the Lawrence family with arrangements.

Sylvia Kenerson

Sylvia E. Kenerson of Koloa, died on June 19, 2009, at Garden Isle Healthcare Center at age 89. Born on June 13, 1920, in Merrimac, Mass., she was a retired waitress.

She was preceded in death by her husband Howard L. Kenerson.

She is survived by her daughters Sonja (Francis) Kealoha of Lawa‘i, Barbara (Benjamin Lastimosa) Whittier of Koloa, Patricia (Bob Lane) Di Bartolomeo of Kapa‘a, Carol (Dennis) Claussen of Koloa, Audrey (Bob) Moulton of ‘Ele‘ele; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

The family will be holding a private internment at a later date.

Arrangements being handled by Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary.
