Agripina Ganiban
Agripina Agoto Agno Ganiban of Hanama‘ulu died on June 28, 2009, at Garden Isle Healthcare at age 90. Born on June 20, 1919, in Sarrat, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, she retired from Snow White Laundry.
She is survived by her husband Santiago B. Ganiban of Hanama‘ulu; daughter Carmen G. (Monico) Balico of Hanama‘ulu; sister Mercedes Agno of the Philippines; brothers Agustin (Teresa) Agno of Honolulu, Bert (Matea) Agno of Kealia, Florentino Agno and Raphael Agno of the Philippines; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, Aug. 1, at Immaculate Conception Church with viewing from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens.
Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the Ganiban family with arrangements.
Asako Takeuchi
Asako F. Takeuchi of Kekaha died July 17, 2009, at Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Hospital at age 81. Born on Feb. 4, 1928, in Kapa‘a, she was a housewife.
She was preceded in death by her husband Taka Takeuchi.
She is survived by her daughters Linda Takeuchi of Kekaha, Debra (Clifford) Takeuchi-Au of Aiea, Claire (Miles) Shiroma of Hilo and Karen (Alan) Muraoka of Kalaheo; three grandchildren; brother Matsuo (Bernette) Fujinaka; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services were private.

Bernadette Montemayor
Bernadette “Bernie” Montemayor of ‘Ele‘ele died July 22, 2009, at her home at age 57. Born on June 6, 1952, in Lihu‘e, she was a financial service representative with Kaua‘i Community Federal Credit Union.
She is survived by her husband Glenn; sons Elton (Nori) Montemayor and Guy (Peggy) Montemayor of ‘Ele‘ele; daughter Kellie (Koa) Montemayor of ‘Ele‘ele, five grandchildren; mother Nieves Antonio of Kekaha; brothers Alex Antonio of Maui and Thomas Antonio of Kekaha; sisters Paula Tanaka of Honolulu and Teri Bible of Kansas; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation at 9 a.m., Mass at 10 a.m., on Saturday, Aug. 1, at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Kekaha. Casual attire is suggested and the family requests flowers be omitted.

Kamee Nishihara
Kamee Nishihara of Koloa died July 21, 2009, at Garden Island Health Care at age 97. Born on Oct. 12, 1911, in Koloa, she was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband Mitsugi; sons Albert and Howard Nishihara; daughter Ann Ayabe; grandson Mike Nishihara; parents Yukichi and Yuu Kunioka; brothers Jiro Kunioka, Saburo Kunioka and Kazuo Kunioka; sisters Tsurue Okimoto and Matsue Pitts.
She is survived by her daughters Edna (Keith) Holdeman of Kalaheo, Gloria (Dr. Jack) Young of Pacific Palisades, Calif. and Thelma (Don) Chikuma of Bellevue, Wash.; grandchildren Beth Mizuno, Susan Yanagi, Glen Nishihara, Dr. Cheryl Ayabe, Dr. Sharon Ayabe, Eric Holdeman, Bruce Holdeman, Lesley Kamian, Dr. Jared Young, Stacy Logue, Kamery Nishihara, Marcus Nishihara, Nikki Cowling and Tricia Chikuma; six great-grandchildren; son-in-law Dr. Harold Ayabe of Kaneohe; daughters-in-law Rose Nishihara of Kailua, Hawai‘i and Lillian Nishihara of Hacienda Heights, Calif. and brother-in-law Tsutomu Okimoto of Honolulu.
Visitation at 10 a.m., service at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Aug. 1, at Koloa Missionary Church. Casual attire is suggested and the family requests flowers be omitted. Interment at a later date.
