Lincoln Sokei
Lincoln Ryoichi Sokei of Honolulu died June 23, 2009, at Maunalani Nursing Home at age 92. Born on Dec. 2, 1916, in Lihu‘e, he was a retired photographer.
He is survived by his brother Takato Sokei, sisters-in-law Yuki Sokei and Tomiko Sokei and brother-in-law Kiyoshi Taba.
Private services were held.
Kamechiyo Kitajima
Kamechiyo Kitajima of Kapa‘a died July 15, 2009, at Mahelona Hospital at age 99. Born on April 17, 1910, in Saga Ken, Japan, she was a retired minister with Kapa‘a Jodo Mission.
She is survived by sons Masamizu Kitajima of Honolulu, Noritaka Kitajima of Anaheim, Calif., and Kunihiko Kitajima of Buena Park, Calif.; daughter Violet Fumiko McMahon of San Clemente, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister Toshiko Tashiro of Saga, Japan; numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were private.
