Helen Brown
Helen Souza Brown died Aug. 1, 2009, in Eugene, Ore. Born on Sept. 7, 1927, in ‘Ele‘ele, she was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Brown.
She is survived by her daughter Theresa Sullivan.
Service at 10:30 a.m., on Thursday, Aug. 6, at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eugene, Ore. Graveside service at St. Mary Catholic Church. Family requests no donations or flowers.
Rodger Parks
Rodger Parks of Lihu‘e died July 24, 2009, at Straub Hospital at age 55. Born in Inglewood, Calif., he was the owner of Gold and Silver Trading Co. in Lihu‘e.
He was preceded in death by his son David.
He is survived by his wife Sigred Parks and children Heather, Amy and James.
Services will be held at 10 a.m., on Aug. 10, at Koloa Church. Scattering of ashes to follow at Ahukini Point.

Pauline Hadama
Pauline “Mahi” Hadama of Koloa died July 29, 2009, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 86. Born on Dec. 7, 1922, in Lihu‘e, she was a school teacher.
She is survived by her husband Masami Hadama, son David Hadama, daughter Beatrice Hadama and one grandchild.
A celebration of her life will be at 2 p.m., on Friday, Aug. 21, at Koloa Missionary Church. Interment at a later date at All Saints Church in Kapa‘a.
Aloha attire is suggested and the family requests that flowers be omitted.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary.
Kikue Yama
Kikue Kay Yama of Lihu‘e died July 23, 2009, at the Regency at Puakea at age 95. Born on Sept. 18, 1913, in Okinawa, she retired as an airport greeter for the State of Hawai‘i’s Visitor’s Information Bureau.
She was preceded in death by her husband Toshiharu Yama; brothers Shigeru Tamayose and Minoru Tamayose.
She is survived by her daughter Karen (Greg) Moberg of Rochester, N.Y.; son Eric (Lauri) Yama of Lihu‘e; brothers George Tamayose of California and Wallace (Amy) Tamayose of Washington; sister Florence Abernathy of Florida; grandchildren Emily (Dirk) Robinson, Laura (Brian) Lavoie, Jennifer Moberg, David Moberg, Lauren Yama and Kimberly Yama; great-grandchildren Micah and Shiloh Robinson.
Visitation from 10-11 a.m., service at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Aug. 8 at Lihu‘e Baptist Church. Casual attire is suggested and the family requests flowers be omitted.

Margaret Reis
Margaret Reis of Lawa‘i died Aug. 2, 2009, at Kaua‘i Veteran’s Memorial Hospital at age 83. Born on Jan. 20, 1926, in ‘Ele‘ele, she was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents Philomin and Maria Simao; son Alvin Reis; brothers Frank, Manuel and Daniel Simao; sisters Madeline Aguiar and Marian Baptiste.
She is survived by her husband Alfred Reis; sons Allen (Patricia) Reis of Lawai and Tony (Jennifer) Reis of Lawa‘i; daughters Jessie (Herbert) Miyazaki of Kalaheo, Margie (Felipe) Bautista of Kapa‘a, Angie (Bob) Vegas of Lawa‘i and Donette Reis of Lawai; 20 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; brother Bernard (Mary Jane) Simao; sisters Beatrice Silva, Dorothy Costa and Bernice (Edwin) Pereira; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation from 9-11 a.m., Mass at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Aug. 8, 2009, at ‘Ele‘ele Sacred Hearts Catholic Church.
Burial to follow at the Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe. Casual attire is suggested.

Antonio Dana
Antonio “Sarry” Dana of Kapa‘a died Aug. 2, 2009 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 84. Born on Oct. 3, 1924, in Hanama‘ulu, he retired as a mechanic with Lihu‘e Sugar Plantation.
He was preceded in death by his brother Paustino Dana.
He is survived by his wife Teresita; daughters Leah Dana of Kapa‘a and Rebecca Dana of Las Vegas; sister Trinidad (Lorencio) Banquel of Kapa‘a; sister-in-law Cecilia Dana of Hanama‘ulu; grandchildren Breeann Santos, Cierra Kinoshita, Kynen Kinoshita all of Kapa‘a; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, Aug. 8, 2009, at St. Catherine’s Church with visitation from 9 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens.
Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the Dana family with arrangements.
