Congratulations to coach Rich Roberts and his great ‘ohana on doing such a great job with the tournament! Coach Rich even dropped off a chili dog bowl so Shelton could finish posting the scores.
Ross Shimabukuro said he had a vacation, playing in the Richard Kawakami Memorial Golf Tournament before returning to the Raider Dome to wrap up the Friday play for the Kaua‘i Challenge. He’s getting ready for the football game next weekend.
Kelvin Moniz was ready to go for the Kapa‘a/Kalani match even while taking care of the Dine Out for Hunger program … he said dinner (or was that lunch?) was at Joe’s on the Green.
And on the subject of food, Kenny Ishii (he didn’t bring any shave ice) came over to check out one of the Kalani assistant coaches, Walter Ishikawa, who played football with Kenny during his high school days.
Hats off to Greg Gonsalves for the hospitality at the KIF pre-season game … everyone was excited, and got even more fired up when Matt Gonsalves announced the half-price food booth specials.
OK, ‘nuff said. Time to gear up for this weekend’s games.
