Funds benefit the Children Miracle Network (you can also donate at the Kaua‘i Gymnastics Academy through Sept. 14), and for those who need to know, the Kapiolani Children’s and Women’s Hospital on O‘ahu is a CMN hospital.
Kaua‘i Fire Capt. Colin Wilson is very grateful to Kaua‘i’s people for helping Fill the Boot for Jerry’s Kids during the Labor Day weekend. He said Kaua‘i’s firemen collected about $14,000 over the two days they were outside stores across the island.
Mahalo to Kelly Gooding (he was cleaning up after the farm fair) for introducing Tracy Santana of Bayside Computer Shop on the Big Island. Coordinating with Recycle Hawai‘i, also of the Big Island, Tracy headed up the crew handling the e-waste collection for Allison Fraley, the county’s solid waste coordinator.
