Marilyn Matsumoto said it’s almost Christmas (Lights on Rice parade coming up, soon!), and her brother Russ Hada just opened an Internet store with some pretty cool sayings (this is right up Chris Faye’s alley) from the days of the Territory of Hawai‘i. Appropriately, the Net store is called www.territoryofhawaii.com.
Bill Harper is fully recovered from the farm fair. He was at the Port Allen Marina last week, and couldn’t help but recollect the photo-op with Neil Ambercrombie and JoAnne Georgi (she grew how many papaya seedlings in her kitchen?).
Lt. Gov. James “Duke” Aiona also made the farm fair, stopping to visit with Bill Honjiyo and the Veteran Council volunteers (there’s still time to win the cruise). Ed Kawamura has tickets for sale at M. Kawamura Farm Enterprises, and while you’re there, check out that Maruyama (it’s only expensive when you buy it) backpack brush cutter.
OK, so don’t forget to check out Laurel Loo, Wesley Elmore, Mark Marshall and even Marlena Bunao at the Labor Day breakfast behind King Auto Center.
