Major Victor Aguilar has had his Waimea High School Jr. ROTC cadets really busy this week and it’s not over yet.
The Menehune cadets were involved in a major inspection, Wednesday (congratulations on the Honor with Distinction award with 981.5 points out of a possible 1,000). Col. Jerald Knudsen and the Kapa‘a Jr. ROTC program also earned the same award.
From there, the Waimea cadets had the KIF air riflery shootoff, set up tables for the Waimea Alumni and Friends lu‘au, helped set up at the G&R mill party (was great to see Bill Dahle as host), and this week is Menehune homecoming!
Kudos to Dave Walker and the committee on a great mill party (looks like it wasn’t going to end at 3 p.m.) and best wishes to coach Chad Delanoza and the Menehune girls (they were serving lunch) who head to the state volleyball championships this week!
Julia Nabeshima was at the party too and said she went to her first football game Friday night because her granddaughter, Dayna Fujii, was the homecoming queen.
Kudos to Marissa Bonilla and all her Homecoming Committee on a great job. Kudos to Darryl Miyasato and the band on a great job with the Michael Jackson numbers (the dancers were pretty cool, practicing all week at Dayna’s house).
