What are the most fuel efficient, “green” options for personal transportation on Kaua‘i today?
Everyone is invited to attend the Apollo Kaua‘i meeting at 6:30 p.m., Oct. 22, in the Mo‘ikeha Building meeting room (Planning Commission meeting room) in the Lihu‘e Civic Center, where representatives from King Auto, Toyota, Midpac, Kuhio Motors and others will be informing us about the best vehicle choices available now and next year.
Electric two-wheeled and three-wheeled motorized bicycles will be on display at the meeting. Their owners will be happy to share information about these vehicles and presently available small electric cars, a news release says.
Janine Rapozo from the county Transportation Agency will update us on their efforts to become more energy efficient and their ongoing improvements to the bus system.
There will be a discussion of locally produced bio-diesel and whether it is a good choice for vehicles.
Bring ideas to contribute to a lively discussion of how personal transportation on Kaua‘i can become more energy sustainable, the release says.
Apollo Kaua‘i, through education and advocacy, is assisting Kaua‘i to become more sustainable by using socially and environmentally responsible, renewable alternatives to fossil fuels. Everyone is invited to attend the Apollo Kaua‘i meeting beginning at 6 p.m. which will precede the 6:30 p.m. personal travel options meeting.
