LIHU‘E — Dayna Fujii of Lihu‘e was crowned as the 2009-2010 homecoming queen as the Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation entered its homecoming round, Friday night.
Kaua‘i High School hosted the Kapa‘a Warriors in the final three games of the KIF football season, and Fujii reigned over the 38-0 Red Raider victory that clinched the KIF title for Kaua‘i for the seventh consecutive year.
During the halftime presentation featuring the Red Raider band under the direction of Darryl Miyasato, Fujii was escorted by Jason Chun, one of the school’s cross country leaders.
Joining the royalty, Taryn Matsumura-Bardago, escorted by her brother Brenden, wore the banner of “Miss Raider;” Janessa Grady was named “Miss Victory,” escorted by Cody Morden; Ashlee Miyashiro, escorted by Lanan Rice-Kashima was “Miss Football;” and Kai‘ulani Mayo, escorted by Dalston Miyasato, filled the berth of “Miss Spirit” to round out the court.
Raeyn Ibia, escorted by Tyren Hasegawa, represented the senior class; Erin Navarro with escort Austin Acorda represented the junior class; Isabelle “Jazzy” Curtis escorted by Blaise Ferguson represented the sophomores; and Alyssa Vegas, escorted by her brother Mason, was named the freshman representative.
