The Hawai‘i Society of CPAs and Kaua‘i Community College will hold their seventh annual business student mixer.
All college and high school students as well as those interested in returning to school in business and accounting are invited to attend.
Participants will meet with deans and faculty from the business baccalaureate and associate programs at University of Hawai‘i at Manoa, UH West O‘ahu, UH Hilo, HPU, Kaua‘i Community College and the Maui Business Technology program.
Attendees will learn about educational opportunities that this powerful work force has to offer.

Kaua‘i Children’s Discovery Museum and Kaua‘i Educational Association for Science and Astronomy are offering astronomy to youth utilizing the KCDM planetarium star lab.
Taught by retired NASA explorer science teacher, Barbara Natland and amateur astronomer, Pastor James Merritt, students will learn about stars, galaxies, black holes and black holes.

Joyce Akagi Nagata
Joyce Akagi Nagata was recently feted at the Waimea High School Annual Alumni and Friends Foundation luau. Nagata was nominated for the 2009 WAFF Spirit Award.
Nominator Romang Tumbaga Peake from Kekaha said, “The true essence of Joyce Akagi Nagata is her dedication and ongoing aloha spirit for her community and Waimea High School.”
Caroline Cardinez Gonsalves, who flew in from Concord, Calif., commented, “Joyce is dedicated and committed to helping mankind and make this world a better place to live.”
Nagata is a member of the Waimea High School Class of 1958.
