LIHU‘E — The Governor’s Council of Neighbor Island Advisors for Kaua‘i will meet at 5 p.m., Thursday, at the Mo‘ikeha Building, Meeting Room 2A/2B, 4444 Rice Street, Lihu‘e.
Department of Land and Natural Resources State Parks Administrator Dan Quinn will present an update of state parks on Kaua‘i, a news release says. The update will include capital improvement projects, proposed rule changes and ongoing master plans.
Gov. Linda Lingle created councils of Neighbor Island advisors to give the neighbor islands a stronger voice in state government. The Council of Neighbor Island Advisors for Kaua‘i holds monthly public meetings to seek community input and advise the governor of important issues, public priorities, and recommendations for state boards and commissions.
The members of the Governor’s Council of Neighbor Island Advisors for Kaua‘i are Stewart Burley, Linda Collins, James Itamura (chair), Maka‘ala Ka‘aumoana, Solette Perry, Barbara Smith and Matt Takata.
