Marcia Bjornstad has been named Po‘ipu Bay Golf Course’s Employee of the Quarter for the third quarter of 2009.
Bjornstad works in the Golf Shop under the Merchandising Department and has been with Po‘ipu Bay since 1995. She was nominated for the award by her supervisors, Don Renteria and Mac McAtee.
Po‘ipu Bay’s quarterly employee awards are based on nominations made by department supervisors, commending employees in the areas of attendance, conscientiousness, attitude, efficiency, innovation, guest service and aloha spirit.
Russell Chung
PBR HAWAI‘I & Associates, Inc., a land planning, environmental planning and landscape architectural firm, announced this week that Russell Y. J. Chung, FASLA, Executive Vice President, has obtained his Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional designation by the U.S. Green Building Council.
As a landscape architect with more than 27 years of professional experience in California, Korea, Guam and Hawai‘i, Chung consistently emphasizes sustainable environments in his designs. Fortunately, the new global ethic and movement toward “green environments” further supports his efforts to integrate Hawai‘i’s landscapes as credible venues for managing such issues as water conservation, storm water management, energy conservation, and renewable energy.
Along with firm management responsibilities, Chung remains directly involved with projects from initiating design concepts, assuring successful implementation and completion and client satisfaction. Chung works on various types of landscape architectural projects ranging in scale and complexity including landscape, hardscape, and planting design to large-scale physical site planning.
Grant Murakami
PBR HAWAI‘I & Associates, Inc. also announced this week that Principal Planner Grant Murakami has obtained his Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional designation by the U.S. Green Building Council.
As a principal planner and urban designer, Murakami has worked towards incorporating environmentally-appropriate, sustainable design solutions in the planning of educational, residential, resort, commercial, recreation and community-based master planning projects in Hawai‘i and the Pacific region. He has been involved in a number of award winning projects which have been recognized for incorporating sound planning principles and quality design.
As a LEED accredited professional, Murakami will continue to work in assisting clients with identifying and implementing innovative sustainable planning and design solutions for their projects.
