LIHU‘E — Four of the five individuals on this week’s Most Wanted list are being sought by police as a result of grand jury bench warrants.
Topping the list is Brendan Alakai Duarte, 26, with a last known address of 485 Pu‘uopae Rd., Wailua Homesteads, who may also be known as Brandon Duarte or Brendon Ala‘akai. He is 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighs 220 pounds, is Japanese and has brown hair, brown eyes and a small mustache.
He is wanted on two grand jury bench warrants for two counts of first-degree terroristic threatening, two counts of third-degree promotion of a dangerous drug, and two counts of unlawful use of or possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia. His total bail is $14,000.
Faith Mendoza Balaan, 27, is Filipino, 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighs 115 pounds, has brown eyes and black hair and a last known address in Koloa. She is wanted on a single grand jury bench warrant for several charges: first-degree burglary; theft and forgery of a credit card; two counts of second-degree attempted theft; three counts of fraudulent use of credit card; and three counts of fourth-degree theft. Her total bail is $12,500.
Nathan Eli Batalona, 45, is Native Hawaiian, 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighing 270 pounds with brown eyes and black hair and a last known address in Lihu‘e. He is wanted on a grand jury bench warrant for seven counts of third-degree sexual assault, and his bail is $10,000.
Steven Nikkolaus Helmke, 19, is white, 6 feet tall, weighs 168 pounds and has blue eyes and brown hair and a last known address in Koloa. He is wanted on a single bench warrant for revocation or modification of terms and conditions of probation. His bail is $5,000.
Jarett David Aquino, 18, is a Native Hawaiian 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 140 pounds. He has black hair, brown eyes and a small mustache. Homeless, his last known address was in Hanapepe. He is wanted on a single grand jury bench warrant for first-degree burglary. His bail is $5,000.
