KEKAHA — Due to the planned expansion of the Kekaha Landfill, the HI-5 bottle redemption center currently situated at the landfill will be relocating next week, according to a county press release.
The redemption center will be moving to Kekaha Road directly across from the old sugar mill and adjacent to the former Kekaha Plantation offices.
Services at the new location will begin on Saturday, Jan. 2.
The operating hours of the center will remain the same: Wednesdays and Saturdays, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., with no break for lunch.
Both residential and commercial loads containing clean and empty HI-5 beverage containers will be accepted at the new location.
Recyclers should sort containers by material — glass, plastic and aluminum — before going to the redemption center as well as remove caps from containers.
In addition, recyclers should arrive no later than 30 minutes before closing.
