PUHI — Anya Littlefield picked up her second automatic state qualification time and broke a Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation championship record to lead the Kapa‘a girls to their 2010 KIF title.
The Waimea boys, tied with Kapa‘a through 10 events at the KIF Swimming Championships Saturday at the YMCA Pool, worked through a consistent swim to pick up the 2010 Boys Swimming title, finishing with 74 points.
Kaua‘i filled in second place with 63 points over Kapa‘a’s 60 points and Island School’s three points.

Overall, the KIF swimmers picked up 12 consideration times in addition to Littlefield’s auto-time standard, six of those considerations coming in relay team events.
Littlefield, who broke the KIF record in the Girls 500-yard Freestyle last week and earned an auto time, this week broke open the KIF Championship record set in Jan. 31, 2009 by Desiree Pia of 1:06.22 in the Girls 100-yard Butterfly.

She also marked a second auto time in the Girls 500-yard Freestyle with her 5:28.99 swim over her seeded 5:28.31 set last week. But the Saturday swim in the event was better than the KIF Championship record of 5:32.24 she set last year.
Littlefield was the No. 3 swimmer in the Girls 200-yard Medley Relay event that finished first for a consideration at 2:02.26. This was also a KIF Championship record swim, bettering the record set on Feb. 4, 2008 by the Kapa‘a team of T. Rames, E. Rausch, K. Jarry and S. Roselli.
The Kapa‘a senior was also part of the Girls 400-yard Freestyle Relay team that earned a consideration swim with its first finish of 4:09.22.
Emma Rausch swam the breaststroke leg of the Girls 200-yard Medley Relay for Kapa‘a and went on to earn a consideration time in the Girls 100-yard Backstroke event on a 1:15.69 swim, bettering her seeded time of 1:16.35.
Kaua‘i High School’s Girls 200-yard Medley Relay finished second (2:07.83) to Kapa‘a, but also earned a consideration time.
Keisha Anaya, senior, was part of that team and went on to earn a consideration time in the Girls 100-yard Backstroke where she bettered her seeded time of 1:07.84 with a swim of 1:07.25.
