Tom Tannery is going to be super busy, today…what with the Keiki Fun Run starting at 8 a.m. and the KIF qualifying meet (hosted by Kaua‘i High) being held at the new YMCA pool.
Sean Magoun, soccer coach for Island, was ecstatic about his team’s win, Wednesday in the rain in Kapa‘a. That sets up a must-win for Waimea boys (how many years has Darren Kosen aged?) this afternoon at the New Town Park stadium.
Darren said Waimea must win to force a playoff with Kapa‘a since Kapa‘a is holding a three-point lead going in.
But the excitement is limited to soccer and swimming since Nouveau Naumu and his Waimea JV boys went into OT to get past Kapa‘a…Ariel Lahip got the insurance point after Kaili Schumacher-Lagundino did one of his Ho‘ouila moves in the final 13 ticks of overtime, Wednesday.
How much more excitement can we take?
Gary Pacheco (pancake king and Mayor of Kilauea) is cooking up some spaghetti to help raise funds to help with a food poisoning victim so if you have the ono for some good grinds, check him out at the Kilauea Park from 5 to 7 p.m. There is sure to be a special like the banana pancakes he whips up at the North Shore Lions pancake breakfast (when is that event, anyway?).
